BUENOS AIRES: TAP MEETS WITH U.S. AMBASSADOR TO ARGENTINA

August 17th, 2022: TAP Chairman Gustavo Pupo-Mayo attended the AS/COA event “Economic and Political Perspectives” in Buenos Aires, where he met with U.S. Ambassador to Argentina Marc Stanley. Pupo-Mayo raised to the Ambassador concern regarding a recently-introduced bill that would upend the current Media Law by applying its regulations – and more – to OTT platforms. The bill would create a 20% national content quota on OTT and apply taxes on these platforms, with rates for foreign companies exceeding those of national firms. The Ambassador reiterated his commitment to represent the interests of U.S. companies in Argentina
