The Television Association of Programmers Latin America (TAP) is an industry trade organization representing pan-regional channels from major media companies:A&E Networks; AMC Networks International Latin America; NBC / Universal / Telemundo Internacional; Paramount Global, Sony Pictures Entertainment; The Walt Disney Company / ESPN; and Warner Bros. Discovery.

TAP’s mission is to improve the regulatory and business climate for the audiovisual content industry in Latin America by fostering open dialogue among its members, government regulatory agencies, and other industry institutions throughout the region and the United States.

TAP member companies produce and distribute audiovisual content programming (movies, series, documentaries, news, sports and entertainment programs) to consumers worldwide through cable and satellite service subscriptions and through Internet platforms.

Gustavo Pupo-Mayo

Chairman

Mr. Pupo-Mayo, a lawyer and journalist with more than 40 years’ experience in television and print media, has founded and helmed a number of international media properties throughout his career. Previously, he was founding President and CEO of MGM Networks Latin America. He has held various positions in the media industry such as: founding President of CBS TeleNoticias; Senior Vice-President of News and Public Affairs for Telemundo Network; General Manager of El Nuevo Herald; and News Director of WLTV Channel 23, the Univision flagship station in the Miami market. Mr. Pupo-Mayo serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Coral Gables Arts Cinema, a non-profit 501(c)(3) film arts organization, and is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Americas Society/ Council of the Americas, a business association dedicated to education, debate, and dialogue in the Americas. Mr. Pupo-Mayo is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law and has bachelor’s degree in journalism also from the UM.

 

Vanessa Pérez

Government Relations, Director

Vanessa previously worked as an Associate in the Latin American practice of McLarty Associates, a strategic consulting firm based in Washington DC, where she supported the consulting efforts of the company's managing partner and led the research team in the region. She also has experience working in the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) and the Department of Education, as well as being a summer teacher for the NGO Breakthrough Collaborative. Vanessa holds a degree in economics and international relations from American University. She is a member of the Steering Committee for the Young Professionals of the Americas chapter in Miami, which is an initiative of AS / COA. She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
