LOS ANGELES: TAP MEETS WITH ECUADORIAN PRODUCTION MINISTER

June 7^th, 2022: In the margins of the Summit of the Americas, which took place in June in Los Angeles, TAP held a meeting with Ecuador’s Minister for Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fisheries, Julio Jose Prado. TAP Chairman Gustavo Pupo-Mayo praised the Administration’s initiative to foment the audiovisual industry through a proposed incentives law, but raised concerns regarding content piracy in Ecuador. According to Pupo-Mayo, production incentives must coexist with strong intellectual property protections to create a favorable climate for foreign investment in the sector.
