MIAMI: TAP MEETS WITH GENERAL LAURA J. RICHARDSON

Television Association of Programmers Latin America (TAP) met with General Laura J. Richardson, Commander of the US Southern Command, and Jean Manes, SouthCom Civil Deputy and candidate for US Ambassador to Colombia.

Miami, USA, February 24, 2023. On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, Gustavo Pupo-Mayo, Chairman of the Television Association of Programmers Latin America (TAP) and Vanessa Pérez, Director of Government Relations, met with the General Laura J. Richardson, Commander of the US Southern Command, and Jean Manes, SouthCom Civilian Deputy and candidate for US Ambassador to Colombia, at an Americas Society / Council of the Americas event .

During the meeting, the General explained SouthCom's deep and constant commitment to the US on security issues and geopolitical strategy; and she highlighted several areas of opportunity for greater regional integration.

TAP, for its part, raised concerns about the continued theft of content in the region, particularly through IPTV devices, as they are designed to steal VOD signals and content, as well as their resale to consumers in Latin America.
